About the Project
The Mettowee River Revitalization Strategy (MRRS) is a local waterfront planning project funded by the Village of Granville and the New York State Department of State, Division of Coastal Resources. The project will develop a revitalization strategy for the Mettowee River and Indian River waterfront to enhance recreational access, connect downtown and riverfront resources, and encourage revitalization of commercial and residential properties.
The goals of the project are to answer the following questions:
- What do we need to protect?
- What should we try to improve?
- How is the waterfront being used currently?
- What role could the waterfront play in the life of the community?
- Can the river catalyze the redevelopment of downtown?
- What will the image of the Village be in the future?
- What type of uses should be on the waterfront?
The plan will consist of a Community Profile, Public Input, Physical Enhancement Plan, Revitalization Strategy, and Implementation Matrix. This will provide the Village, Town, and community organizations a variety of physical projects and regulatory changes which can fulfill the goals of the community.
We are seeking the perspective of community agencies and organizations, as well as individual residents. Please feel free to email any ideas you may have to info@elanpd.com.
